Design Process


Initial Ideas:

  • Side scroller game? rhythm game?
  • Angry bird thing? 
  • Cannon-ball type game (aim into a certain direction as it moves)
  • Typing on stuff as it falls, rhythm game? (difficulty ramps up with each stage, should build up to b faster)
  • Chef game, side scroller (Making meat stew: Mechanic: Cutting ingredients)
  • Pizza - putting ingredients on the pizza as your hand moves 
  • Burger - piling ingredients up until the stack falls
  • Stacking cats, UFO dropping cats
    • Prototype: dropping rectangular sprites with 2D box colliders, box at the top moving back and forth, rectangular sprites drop from that box 

Comments from Playtesters

  • Negative point when cat flies away
  • Maybe bonus cats when they get fish
  • For future iteration = add enemy (chick flying slowly towards the cat tower & shoot cat to knock the chick out of the purr-amid)
  • For bathtub scene - bounciness decreases when cats are stacked so code them in a way that bounciness will stay
  • What if one of the obstacles/distractions is a fish/cat toy/etc so that some cats are attracted to the obstacles and move out of the purr-amid.
  •  Cute art style
